The winning projects of the Wapps .cat Awards 25-26 are here: creativity, technology and Catalan

May 29, 2026

On 22 May, the Sala Mirador at the CCCB in Barcelona hosted the Wapps.cat final, the competition for websites in Catalan. Fifteen finalist teams — selected from among more than 460 student participants in this 15th edition, from Catalonia, the Valencian Country and the Balearic Islands — presented their projects to the jury.

The Wapps .cat Awards are the final recognition of a year’s work by teachers and students within the framework of the Dotació .cat: the .cat domain programme that, in collaboration with registrars Cdmon, Dinahosting and Nominalia, offers educational centres a real .cat domain and web hosting to create digital projects in Catalan free of charge during the first year. Websites accessible to everyone, made by primary, secondary, sixth form and vocational training students, that are born at school and end up on the Internet. In this edition, 4,000 grants were made available to schools and 206 groups participated in the competition.

A gala hosted by Albert Roig
The final was hosted by Albert Roig, Catalan content creator and actor, known for his humorous pieces on TikTok and Instagram. His friendly tone set the pace for a day that combined the nerves of the finalists on stage with the warmth of applause from a packed hall.

Before the award ceremony, Joan Abellà, director of Accent Obert, took to the stage to explain why the Dotació .cat champions digital creation in Catalan from the classroom: because every young person who learns to build a website in their own language adds valuable content to the Catalan digital ecosystem.

The jury for this edition was made up of Vicent Ferrer (Acció Cultural del País Valencià), Neus Baidal (Saüc Estudi), Sandra Serra (Nominalia), David Blanch (Cdmon) and Victor Baños (Dinahosting).
