Who are the authorised .cat registrars?

The authorised registrars are all those domain registration companies that are accredited by ICANN and by us as the .cat Registry, and that offer the .cat domain directly.

Each one has its own commercial model:

  • Some sell directly to end users, both individuals and businesses.
  • Some offer .cats through their commercial network (resellers, agencies, distributors).
  • Some are specialised in trademarks and intellectual property, designed for large companies with specific domain management and protection needs.

Remember that the registration of the .cat domain must be made through one of these registrars and in no case can it be done directly with us.

Can I use my .cat together with other domains without losing the ones I already have?

All domains are compatible with each other. The same website can be accessible simultaneously from different extensions, for example from a .com domain and from a .cat at the same time.

Adding a .cat does not affect or remove any of the other domains you already have.

The same applies to email: if the name you use is available with .cat, you can register the same address with this extension and keep both active at the same time.
