What is the .cat Grant and who can take part?
What is the .cat Grant and who can take part?
The .cat Grant is a free technical pack that we offer together with the registrars cdmon, Dinahosting and Nominalia, for teachers who want to do web projects in the classroom with their students.
Each pack includes a .cat domain and web hosting free of charge during the first year. This way, each student can have their own domain to work on their digital project throughout the school year.
Who it is aimed at
To teachers from Catalan-speaking territories who teach in:
- Last cycle of primary (years 5 and 6).
- Secondary school (ESO).
- Sixth form / pre-university (Batxillerat).
- Intermediate and higher vocational training cycles.
What the requirements are
- Be a teacher in a centre in Catalan-speaking territories.
- Have an email address linked to the educational system or to the centre, to validate the application.
- Apply for the .cat Grant exclusively for web projects with educational purposes.
- Apply for a newly created domain that does not affect registered trademarks.
How to apply for it
Applications are open throughout the school year, from September to June, until the 4,000 available grants run out. You can register and submit your application at dotacio.domini.cat.
And once you have the .cat Grant?
The projects created with the .cat Grant can take part in the Wapps Awards, the annual contest that recognises the best websites made by students within the programme. You can check the details in the FAQ “What are the Wapps Awards? How can my class take part?”.
