Your educational project deserves its own space on the Internet
The .cat Grant is back with a new edition to help teachers and schools bring their digital projects to life. Thanks to this program, you can get a free .cat domain and web hosting for the first year, and start building with your students a dedicated space on the web. If you are a teacher with an educational project that needs a website, now is the time to take the leap!
15 editions and thousands of students
With fifteen editions behind it, the .cat Grant has become a key tool for the digitalization of Catalan-language education. More than 30,000 students have taken part in this journey, experiencing what it means to have their own space on the Internet.
Last year, 174 schools requested a total of 2,019 grants, a figure that highlights both the vitality of the program and the real need it addresses in the classroom. This year, the .cat Grant is back stronger than ever, making 4,000 new grants available to the teaching community.
Technology partners
The .cat Grant is made possible thanks to the collaboration between Domini .cat (Accent Obert) and the registrars Dinahosting, Cdmon, and Nominalia.
These registrars, accredited to manage .cat domains, provide the technical package that combines a domain name + web hosting, so that educational projects can grow in Catalan online.
In this edition, the partners are offering 4,000 free grants for students across Catalan-speaking territories.
The contest is back this year
This year, the .cat Grant is also bringing back its contest—an opportunity to recognize the most innovative and creative projects. The award ceremony will take place at the end of May, but details about the categories, prizes, and jury will not be made public until January.
Resources to make the most of a .cat
To support teachers and their students, Domini .cat is offering training video capsules that explain, step by step, how to work with WordPress and unlock the full potential of a website in Catalan.
These tutorials cover areas such as content, design, using Elementor, plugins, languages, and many other useful tools to learn how to successfully create and manage a digital project.
